The celebrated and beautiful beaches of Malia Municipality, with their fine golden sand and clear blue sea, spread across 6 kilometres of coastline, from picturesque Stalida to the famous Potamos beach west of the archaeological site.All the beaches have tourist facilities and offer wonderful moments of peace, relaxation and fun.

The best-known beaches of the municipality are Vagies in the small self-sown palm grove, Finikas and Psarolakkos in Stalida, and Klontzani, Pyrgos and Potamos in Malia.The most popular beach in the municipality and one of the best in Crete is Potamos.

The beach is run by the Municipal Enterprise for Development of Malia which, with respect for both the natural environment and visitors, has set up organised facilities with changing rooms, portaloos, wooden walkways on the beach, etc.
